Plas Dinas Country House - Caernarfon

Once the home of Lord Snowdon, Plas Dinas now offers a boutique country house hotel setting surrounded in 15 acres of beautiful grounds. Plas Dinas has an award-winning restaurant as listed in the MICHELIN Guide and has been awarded the Best Hotel in Wales and Best Place to Eat in Wales at the Visit Wales National Awards and Hotel of the Year in North Wales in 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021. It is a destination for foodies and those looking to take on the adventure lands of Snowdonia with a Head Chef that was a finalist on Great British Menu 2025. It is a relaxing retreat, with 5* amenities, wonderful Afternoon Tea menus and filled to the brim with royal memorabilia. It was winner of Best Hotel for Romance in the UK at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards 2025 and AA Best Restaurant with Rooms in Wales 2025.

Historic Plas Dinas Country House is between the mountains of Snowdonia and the Irish Sea. It has individually designed rooms, designed to tell the multigenerational love story of the Armstrong-Jones family, including HRH Princess Margaret.

The Gunroom restaurant features award-winning Welsh chef Daniel Ap Geraint and offers two sittings (6pm & 8pm) each evening. The monthly changing menu offers a 9-course hybrid taster menu that celebrates Welsh produce and seasonal delights. Whilst it offers fine dining, you will feel relaxed and indulged from the moment you walk in. Advance booking is essential. Sittings are available at 6pm and 8pm but the experience commences some 30 minutes prior in the beautifully designed Drawing Room.

Breakfast includes cooked and continental options, and is served in the dining room overlooking the picturesque garden.

Good road links make Plas Dinas Country House accessible from many of North Wales’s popular attractions. The hotel is only 10 minutes’ drive from the World Heritage site of Caernarfon and 18 minutes to Llanberis and Snowdon. Anglesey and the Menai Straits are just a 15 minute drive away and just 35 minutes to Holyhead for those of you travelling from the ports.

The hotel day starts from hour 15:00 and ends at 11:00.
