The Ganton Greyhound is a 16th Century coaching inn, located in an enviable position between Malton and Scarborough, therefore allowing guests easy access to the coastal resorts (Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Whitby) and inland treasures such as York, Pickering, Helmsley, Malton, Flamingo Land and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Not only ideal for those wishing to explorethat North Yorkshire has to offer, we are also well suited to those walking the Wolds Way (approx 2 minutes walk away), and to golfers wishing to play on the challenging championship course of Ganton Golf Club (approx. 5 minutes walk).
We have a bar on site, and guests can relax with a drink in the lounge, bar, snug or comfortable and spacious beer garden (subject to weather conditions of course)! We also have a restaurant offering hearty home-cooked meals using local produce.
Dogs are very welcome to stay at the Ganton Greyhound, in one of our allocated dog friendly rooms in the courtyard. They are also welcome in the bar and beer garden, and at breakfast and dinner we have specific dining areas for guests and their four-legged friends.
All rooms have recently been redecorated and recarpeted, and have an en suite bathroom, teacoffee making facilities, television and seating area. We offer free private parking on site too -surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside!
The hotel day starts from hour 15:30 and ends at 10:30.
Please be aware the hotels bar is open from 5pm every day except Sunday when it is closedday. It closes at 10pm Monday to Wednesday, and at 11pm Thursday to Saturday. The restaurant serves meals from 5.30pm - 8.00pm (last food order) every day except Sunday when it is closed. Check in is from 3pm each day, with the latest check in 9pm Monday-Saturday and 6pm Sunday. Thank you for considering staying at The Ganton Greyhound. Kindest regards from Steve Sharon and the team.
Classic Double Room. These double rooms have recently been redecorated and recarpeted, and have an en suite bathroom, TV and teacoffee making facilities. They overlook the rear garden and are above the breakfast room of the hotel (so therefore not above the barrestaurant areas). Please note that these rooms are located upstairs, and dogs are NOT permitted in these rooms (we recommend a courtyard room for easier access in and out for your dogs toilet visits). An external hotel key is provided for guests staying in these rooms to provide access when the barrestaurant is closed. ;
Courtyard Double or Twin Room. These spacious rooms are larger than our classic rooms, and are in the courtyard area of the hotel with direct access for guests from the car park. They have recently been redecorated and recarpeted, and have an en suite bathroom, TV, teacoffee making facilities and a seating area. Please request a double or twin bedded room at time of booking (subject to availability). Dogs are permitted in these rooms (maximum 2 dogs), at an additional charge of £15 for the duration of your stay - please advise when booking. Please note some of these rooms are on the ground floor and some are on the first floor. One has a wheelchair accessible wet room - again subject to availability. ;
Family Room (2 Adults + 2 Children). Our large family rooms are in the courtyard with direct access for guests from the car park. They have recently been redecorated and recarpeted, andhave a double bed and 2 single beds, so can sleep up to 4 people (adults or children), plus en suite bathroom (bath with shower over), TV, teacoffee making facilities and a seating area. Two of the family rooms have the double bed in the main room, and a twin bedded room off this main room (with an additional television), for some added privacy. We can add a travel cot at no extra charge if you could bring the little ones own bedding.
